What to expect on your first visit?
Your Initial Consultation
Your initial visit with one of our doctors at BWC is focused around getting to the cause of your health concern. Our doctors will spend 45-60 minutes going over your health history to determine if you are a candidate for upper cervical full spine chiropractic care. Depended on what the health concern is, the doctor will determine what particular examination will need to be performed.
Posture Assessment and Range of Motion
The doctor will begin by taking two digital postural assessment photos to determine your starting posture and possible trends. Following, they will have you move through a series of movements to see how well your spine and surrounding tissue is functioning.
Leg Check and Thermal Imaging
Not all problems are spinal problems. The doctor will perform a series of tests and leg length test to determine if your problem may be related to an upper cervical or spinal issue. Last, thermal imaging will be performed to detect inflammation in the tissues surrounding the spine. If the doctor determines that chiropractic care is the best course of action, they will prescribe digital X-rays.
Digital X-Rays
Part of what makes BWC exceptional is the training our doctors have received while learning the Blair Method. This Method is a precise analysis and correction of the cervical spine. The images taken will help the doctor determine the most effective and specific way to correct the cause of so many health problems. Patients are encouraged to bring in past MRI, CT scans or X-rays taken of their head or spine.
The Upper Cervical Adjustment
BWC utilizes many chiropractic techniques to address the entire spine, however, the Blair Upper Cervical Method of spinal correction is what sets us apart. This adjustment is gentle and specific without loud “popping” or “cracking” in the neck. The patient is side lying and the table has a mechanism that helps adjust the neck; with only slight pressure being used. Other techniques our doctors are trained in include: Gonstead, Thompson, Logan Basic, Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT), Cranial, and Pediatric adjustments.
Pregnancy Care
BWC is a family office that specialize in all phases of life. Our doctors have the most advanced training in prenatal care. Initial examination will be focused on addressing the spinal issues without any need for X-ray. The Webster Technique is utilized to analyze and care for the expecting mother.
