Garlic Sweet Potato French Fries
French fries are delicious, but let’s face it, they’re terrible for you. Restaurant Fries are typically made from a blend of different types of potato starches and are deep fried in seed oils that no human should be eating. After being cooked, they are normally loaded up with salt to create a hyper palatable treat that are nearly impossible to eat “in moderation.”
How Can We Eat French Fries Without The Added Fat And Salt?
If you want high quality fries, the best answer is to make them yourself with an air fryer! The benefits to making your own sweet potato fries at home are endless.
-First, when you make your own, you know that you are using whole sweet potatoes. Many times people order sweet potato fries thinking that they are doing something healthy for themselves. In reality restaurant sweet potato fries are nothing more than processed starches. When you make your own you use only a sweet potato.
-Second, you can make sure your fries are not coated in oils that are dangerous for your health. Instead of frying them in canola oil or vegetable oil, we recommend using just a small amount of olive oil
-You control the salt level. As opposed to restaurant fries that are covered in salt, you are in control of the amount of salt and seasoning put on a food.
-Last, since our at-home sweet potato fries are made with whole foods you will not be tempted to eat more than your share of them. Ultra processed foods, like restaurant french fries, generally cause people to over consume. When you cook them in your own kitchen, you will cut down on this temptation!
